In the aftermath of the earthquake that struck East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) some time ago, local residents are still facing another challenge: a drought caused by the dry season. A number of evacuation tents still stand in several locations, one of which is in Ronting Village, Satar Kampas Village, Lambaleda Subdistrict, East Manggarai Regency, NTT. These conditions make meeting basic needs—especially clean water and healthcare—an urgent priority for the affected communities.
As a gesture of support, Badak LNG has provided assistance in the form of clean water well infrastructure, family hygiene kits, medicines, and vitamins. Part of this aid also came from the active participation of Badak LNG employees. It is hoped that this assistance will help meet the community’s basic needs, particularly while they are in evacuation centers.
In addition to meeting daily needs, the boreholes are expected to support community activities, including agriculture, thereby contributing to the sustainable economic recovery of the residents.
In distributing the aid, Badak LNG collaborated with Baituzzakah Pertamina (BAZMA Pertamina). The aid has been distributed in phases since late September 2026 and continues to this day, tailored to the urgent needs of the affected communities.
Syuhril, Supervisor of Internal & External Relations at Badak LNG, stated that meeting the needs for clean water and health is a key priority in helping the community navigate the post-disaster recovery period.
“The company hopes this assistance can ease the burden on the community during post-earthquake recovery and help meet their clean water needs, as well as minimize the risk of health issues resulting from water shortages and unmet basic needs,” he said.
Through BAZMA Pertamina, the beneficiary communities expressed their appreciation for the assistance provided by Badak LNG. This assistance serves as a manifestation of the company’s solidarity and presence, aimed at helping and strengthening one another amid the difficult situation faced by the people of NTT.
