Badak LNG is participating in the Kaltim Expo 2026, which will take place August 19–23, 2026, at Big Mall Samarinda. In collaboration with SKK Migas and a number of Production Sharing Contract (PSC) Contractors under the theme “Energy Innovation,” Badak LNG provided education on Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) and showcased products from its partner small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Badak LNG’s participation in this exhibition provided an opportunity for the Company to interact directly with the public while introducing the implementation of HSSE culture—a critical aspect in ensuring the safety and sustainability of the Company’s operational activities. The HSSE education initiative also encourages the public to understand that a culture of safety and environmental stewardship is not only applied in the workplace but is also essential in daily life.
On the other hand, as a form of support for the development of the creative economy, Badak LNG also showcased products from its partner MSMEs. The products on display included bawis chips, crispy anchovies, sea urchin sticks, and Bontang’s signature terasi (shrimp paste). The presence of these products served as a promotional tool while also introducing a variety of local processed goods to visitors at the 2026 East Kalimantan Expo.
These products are part of the community empowerment program implemented by Badak LNG to foster capacity building and community self-reliance. Through mentoring and support for MSME operators, the company helps communities develop their potential to generate added value and create economic opportunities.
The inclusion of HSSE education and various SME products reflects Badak LNG’s commitment to prioritizing safety, environmental management, and community progress. This is evidenced by the achievement of 136 safe working hours and the receipt of the Gold PROPER award for 15 consecutive years. These achievements are undoubtedly the result of the synergy and support from various parties who play a role in ensuring the Company’s sustainability.
Badak LNG’s participation alongside SKK Migas and KKKS in the Kaltim Expo is a concrete example of this synergy in showcasing the oil and gas industry’s contributions to the community, including Badak LNG’s role as part of the Pertamina Group. This collaboration was met with enthusiastic reception from visitors and further strengthened the relationship between industry stakeholders and the community. Moving forward, Badak LNG hopes that this established cooperation will continue to grow and provide tangible benefits to the broader community.
